Singing makes you Happy
Updated: Mar 12
We rehearse regularly on Zoom at the moment. New members are always welcome.
Neuroscience proves that group singing makes us happier, healthier, smarter and more creative. Every time you sing, you fire up the right temporal lobe of your brain and release endorphins.
“Nothing accesses the inner world of feelings, sensations, memories, and associations as directly as music does...The voice is like a bridge from your heart to your head. Singing freely releases what's locked up in your body." (Diane Austin, Executive Director of the Music Psychotherapy Center in New York)
In addition to this release of tension and emotions that singers can experience, joining a choir can provide time to escape from day-to-day worries, a support network and a sense of belonging.
